Beach Clean (29th July)
Today’s beach clean was supported by 4 WI members plus Rita’s grandson who was enthusiastic and found an artefact of interest plus lots of other bits of rubbish.
Our haul included a pair of socks found by Shirley, and empty pot of Gourmet Fudge inside a tray that looked like set resin, plus plastic, including cotton bud sticks, sweet wrappers and other sundry items. A very worthwhile way to spend an hour.

Rochester Walk (3rd July)
It was a beautiful day for a visit to Rochester.
We arrived at Restoration House just as it opened, so we’re the first people in which was lovely as every room that we went was empty of people apart from the guide.
The tour of the house was a joy and then we moved on to have coffee and cake in the garden which was equally joyful.
The new garden with the restored Tudor wall has been designed in the Italian style and is so convincing Caroline decided she was in Florence !!!
We all agreed it was a lovely way to spend a day

Beach Clean (25th June)
This mornings litter pick took place in ideal weather conditions, blue sky, sunshine and the relaxing sound of the sea. We all collected, paper, plastic, empty drinks containers, discarded items which included a sock plus other bits and bobs. Penny had the best find which was an amazing metal artefact that we thought might have at one time played a part in holding a well known ship together !!!!

Beach Clean (20th May)

It was a small but industrious group that took part in the community beach clean this morning.
Lots of small pieces of plastic, coffee cup tops, fishing line, packaging, sweet wrappers plus Marylyn’s find of the day which was an attractive virtually new ball. Presumably this had been lost by a dog walker, so rather than dispose of it Marylyn offered it to a couple walking their dog on the promenade who were very happy to accept it, as was the dog !
The beach clean is our WI’s only community event apart from collecting for the Haven.
New faces would be very welcome.
